Thieving Manipulator

Reports came in about Domine this week from my Protectorate contacts. Domine is the name I gave to the mental manipulator we have been trying to capture. There were a number of people in a small area within the state that posted private, and I have to say in a couple cases embarrassing, information and files on one man's Socialmabob page. They claimed not to have been duped but somehow compelled to do it. Socialmabob users went nuts and things spilled over onto Gabbl. Someone hired a private detective to check out the man receiving the information. One thing led to another and the man was found with a woman in tow and when he was confronted she pulled a gun and opened fire.

The private detective was killed and three other innocent bystanders were taken to the hospital, one in critical condition. The woman was caught by police, but claimed to have no recollection of the crime. The man is still being sought. It doesn't matter. He's no more responsible than the woman, though that won't stop his capture.

Unless something concrete happens this week by Thursday I won't be posting next week. Sarah is feeling great again after her medical crisis and we intend to have Thanksgiving with the team, then we're going to take the weekend off from everything. Enjoy your holiday and we will see you December 7th.

Old Name Rising

You haven't heard the name Trevor Mann here since just over a year ago. He's something of a daring-do, a rebel, and in some circles a terrorist. Then again, by some official accounts I'm something of a terrorist--as are you if you are among the gifted. I don't know where I rank, but it's been somewhat obvious the O.S.I.R. agents fear me. Anyway, let me remind you or inform you that Trevor is a prominent member of a group that calls itself the Children of the Revolution. The Children of the Revolution are rights activists promoting the rights of all humans, but a little less than publically mostly the rights of the gifted. The Children were particularly active in the late 2000s. They created a number of tracts and manifestos. They ran a bunch of protests. They got into a lot of trouble with several layers of law enforcement, not the least of which was the O.S.I.R.

I've never met Trevor, but by all accounts he's kind of extreme, and honestly, likely to take things too far. Just click his tag below to see why I personally think this, but also why it may be a bit of an over-statement. What went on when Melvin got Trevor involved in our affairs shows that people expect the worst. If other stories are true though, then his infamy is deserved. I digress. Trevor is taking over as leader of the Children of the Revolution after what has been a quiet couple of years. No doubt he'll shake things up. I hope it's for the best. Actions do speak louder than words. Some people and organizations do need shaking up. Certainly there is more good that he and the Children can do. Make us proud Trevor!

Underground Medical Treatment

Sarah collapsed on Thursday. Considering everything I've done and been through I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life. Fortunately it didn't happen out in public. I can't imagine what would have happened if we had to take an ambulance to a real hospital. Not only do we not have any insurance, but I've been warned from several sources that the gifted have a high tendency to disappear from hospitals if they individual is known to the O.S.I.R. I imagine the hospitals have nothing to do with it, but that instead it is their surveillance cameras that are used against us. Agents show up with legitimate arrest warrants, or with cover stories of rich relatives insisting on private care, or inaccurate but still legal paperwork for involuntary admission to a mental institute.

Back to what happened. I immediately called my Protectorate emergency contact number. They got a doctor over to us within fifteen minutes. Meanwhile I had called Myron for protection getting Sarah to the doctor's clinic, and Jack for added muscle. Myron, Jack, and Jenny showed up shortly after the doctor. I don't know who called Jenny, but in hindsight it was a good idea. You never know nowadays when they want to drop a patient's temperature to retain brain health in a collapse. We bundled Sarah into the back of the doctor's car with me. The others followed behind, with the address in case we got separated. Myron did have to make a couple of helpful people believe that they hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary.

The diagnosis the doctor gave us was a pulmonary embolism. In other words, a blood clot. He was unclear on the cause, but sometime after she came to Sarah suggested it could be in her family history. We stayed at the clinic until late this afternoon when the doctor sent us home. She's on blood thinners for a couple days yet until we see him again. Otherwise she seems okay. It didn't appear to be as dangerous as it certainly could have been. I don't like saying it or thinking it but some people die from this. I'm very grateful she's still with me. I don't know what I'd do without her.

Sneezing Safety

I managed to stave off the inevitable until Friday. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I've got that cold that's been going around already. For anyone else this news would not be news. You may remember though that last time I had a cold all sorts of psychic misfires went on as I uncontrollably threw things around with every sneeze and coughing fit. This time around nary a thing moved, and I sneezed so hard a couple times that my head could have come off. I guess I've improved that much. I still don't know what would go on if I was delirious, or comatose, or something. I could still be dangerous then, but in my right mind I'm good.

I'm going to go some more sleep and see if I can knock the stuffing out of this cold.
